Black Walnut (juglans nigra)

Possibly the most desired common urban hardwood, black walnut is a favorite of both seasoned woodworkers and hobbyists alike. Easier to work than acacia, but still hard enough to be suitable for all furniture applications. The photos below show various samples of what our slabs look like finished and unfinished.

There is a range of prices for walnut depending on moisture content, width of slab, and unique figure. Most of our walnut sells for $12/board foot, but can sell for over $20 for special pieces.
