Redwood (sequoia sempervirens)

This slab came from a tree we removed on Oxford Street in Berkeley. Only about one in twenty redwood trees have this kind of curly figure. The slab above shows us applying a minwax stain to bring out the color and contrast. We have over thirty slabs of this wood but very recently milled and therefore not dry. We typically sell redwood for $5/board foot when recently milled, and $10/bf for the curly redwood. Once dry, our redwood is $8/bf, and $15/bf for the curly redwood.
